## Trust & transparency (smart contracts)
FUTURAI is fully **non-custodial** and runs on **smart contracts** deployed on **Polygon PoS** (chain ID 137). Users' funds are held by the contracts — not by FUTURAI. All trades settle on-chain.

Architecture:
- **Non-custodial**: user funds are locked in smart contracts, not held by the platform.
- **Private vault per user**: each user has their own encrypted crypto vault (private key), secured by a **passkey** (WebAuthn / FIDO2). Only the user can authorize transactions — FUTURAI never has access to user private keys or funds. Even if the platform were compromised, user funds remain safe because the signing key lives on the user's device.
- **On-chain settlement**: every market resolution is recorded on Polygon and verifiable on Polygonscan.
- **Multi-sig governance**: critical contract operations require a 2-of-3 multisig via Gnosis Safe + 120h Timelock.
- **USDC**: all positions are denominated in USDC (Polygon: `0x3c499c542cEF5E3811e1192ce70d8cC03d5c3359`).

How user custody works:
1. On signup, a unique **crypto vault** (Polygon wallet) is created for the user.
2. The vault's private key is **encrypted with the user's passkey** (biometrics / hardware key) — the platform never stores the raw key.
3. To trade, the user **signs each transaction locally** with their passkey — the signed transaction is then broadcast to Polygon.
4. Withdrawals go directly from the smart contract to the user's external wallet — no platform approval needed.
5. If a user loses their passkey, a recovery flow via email + identity verification allows re-enrollment — but FUTURAI still cannot access the vault without user authorization.

## How prices work
- A price ∈ (0, 1) is the implied probability of the corresponding outcome resolving true.
- Prices are DYNAMIC: they move with order flow and new information and are NOT guarantees, forecasts, or financial advice.
- Example: a YES price of 0.73 means the market collectively estimates a 73% probability of the event occurring.

## AI-native architecture
FUTURAI is built AI-native, not AI-added: AI sits at the center of the architecture. Autonomous agents run a continuous loop — perceive (read real-time news, prices, and on-chain data) → think (reason with LLMs) → act (open or adjust a market, set prices, inject liquidity) → learn (score decisions against outcomes and order flow) → repeat. The autonomous market lifecycle: detect a relevant, priceable event → create a market with a clear question, deadline, and sources → set initial prices → monitor live flow → reprice as the crowd reacts → feed the best-performing results into the next cycle. Automation applies the public rules consistently and fast — it does not replace them; every market is still settled by its declared, verifiable resolution source and date.
